Filming to begin next week on Enid Blyton

According to the Telegraph, filming will begin next week in London and Surrey.

Matthew Macfadyen will play Hugh Pollock, Blyton's publisher and first husband and Denis Lawson will play Kenneth Darrell Waters, a London surgeon who becomes Blyton's second husband.

Enid Blyton Drama

Thanks to The Sun, we now know Matthew Macfadyen's newest project. He will play the role of Enid Blyton's first husband.

The drama for BBC4 is about children's author, Enid Blyton, played by Helena Bonham Carter.

It is currently in production and planned to be released later this year.

Chickens and a Veggie Patch

Keeley Hawes always brings insight into the family's home life. This lovely interview in the April issue of Psychologies shows exactly why Matthew and Keeley make such a perfect couple.

A few excerpts:

Downtime tends to involve helping the kids look after the family’s brood of chickens. ‘They’re very sweet and they don’t bite. They wanted a dog, really, but I said, “Let’s see how we go with chickens.”

and

My husband and I bought a house and moved in a week before the news hit that we were going into a recession. One day it will be ours, but we have to work very hard for it. Matthew was about to go to India for a job and they pulled it, with two weeks to go. It keeps you on your toes.
