London, England, Monday May 8th 2006.
Seven weeks of principal photography is underway at Ealing Studios and on location in and around London on the new comedy feature Death At A Funeral, directed by Hollywood comedic legend Frank Oz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Bowfinger). Death At A Funeral will mark the twentieth anniversary since Oz directed the widely acclaimed screen adaptation of stage musical Little Shop Of Horrors in the UK in 1986.
Based on an original screenplay from newcomer Dean Craig, Death At A Funeral is produced by Diana Phillips, Share Stallings and Larry Malkin. Sidney Kimmel Entertainment will finance the project and handle worldwide sales.
Death At A Funeral revolves around the funeral of the father of estranged brothers Daniel (Matthew MacFadyen) and Robert (Rupert Graves). From the outset the funeral doesn't go quite as smoothly as the brothers would hope, and what begins as an appropriately sombre affair descends into chaos and farce with hilarious results. Death At A Funeral is a fast-paced, irreverent comedy with a heart, that sees the two brothers confront their own fears, failings and deal with the consequences of the arrival of a mysterious stranger.
