Death At A Funeral: official website production notes

Mrs Q, Karan, and Perfectly Matte all stumbled upon the updated official website and its new content. All new images added to the galleries but here is a copy of some of the production notes.

Production notes from the film:

At the center of the day's maelstrom is Daniel, the poor, put-upon son who just wants to give his father the send-off he deserves -- but instead finds himself unraveling the rampant improprieties in his family. To play Daniel, the filmmakers chose one of today's fastest rishing British stars, Matthew Macfadyen, who came to the fore and won global acclaim playing the ultimate romantic lead of Mr. Darcy in the 2005 film version of Pride and Prejudice. Having studied at the renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Macfadyen might be known for his more serious roles, but he proves he has the chops of the consummate straight man in the role of Daniel.

Death At A Funeral (2007)

Synopsis from Sydney Kimmel Productions press release:

Death At A Funeral revolves around the funeral of the father of estranged brothers Daniel (Matthew MacFadyen) and Robert (Rupert Graves). From theMatthew Macfadyen as Daniel outset the funeral doesn’t go quite as smoothly as the brothers would hope, and what begins as an appropriately sombre affair descends into chaos and farce with hilarious results. Death At A Funeral is a fast-paced, irreverent comedy with a heart, that sees the two brothers confront their own fears, failings and deal with the consequences of the arrival of a mysterious stranger.

Boasting a cast line-up that’s a veritable “who’s who” of hot acting talent, Death At A Funeral looks set to continue the recent resurgence of British cinema. Heading the cast as the uptight and serious Daniel is rising star Matthew Macfadyen (Enigma, Maybe Baby) who recently portrayed Mr Darcy in the hit film Pride and Predjudice, while Rupert Graves (Rag Tale, V For Vendetta ) will play his carefree and infuriatingly irresponsible younger brother Robert.

Matthew Macfadyen Role:

Matthew plays the part of Daniel, son of the deceased patriarch
