Ripper Street S3: Possibility of a fourth series?

Radio Times spoke with show creator Richard Warlow who said the third series will hit an end point of sorts but there will be opportunity to continue.

MyAnna Buring – who plays Long Susan Hart, owner of Obsidian Estates and Captain Jackson's estranged wife – agrees, adding, "[before] it was left with a confidence of knowing we'd come back whereas now it's not the confidence that it couldn't come back, it's just the confidence that this is where they always wanted to get to."

"On [the creators'] own terms, on the characters' own terms and it doesn't mean it's all wrapped up," adds Matthew Macfadyen, the man behind Inspector Edmund Reid.

Ripper Street S3: Radio Times introduces us to Series 3 from the cast

Radio Times has an introduction of the third series of Ripper Street which takes place 4 years after the last series.  The introduction is given by the cast.  Here's what Matthew Macfadyen had to introduce:

Matthew McFadyen – plays Inspector Edmund Reid. Estranged from Councillor Jane Cobden and Captain Jackson, Reid is leading an increasingly lonely life, forsaking booze and burning the midnight oil at Leman Street.

"Reid’s been making an archive. He’s become very insular and a bit odd, quite anal, and he’s made this enormous archive cataloguing every villain and snitch – like a first computer database so he can cross-reference. His eyesight’s getting worse and he’s very lonely. His relationships have all broken down.
