Secret Life BAFTA Nominations?

Cassangel was able to discover that Kudos has submitted Matthew Macfadyen, Holly Aird, Yasmin Paige and Rowan Joffe as contenders in the Single Drama category for the British Academy Television Awards.

Nominations will be announced on 27th March 2008.  BAFTA will be shown on 20 April 2008.

Little Dorrit

The BBC Press Office have just announced that Matthew is confirmed to play Arthur Clennam in the new series written by Andrew Davies, with full casting to be announced at a later date.

Like many other well-loved Dicken's novels, Little Dorrit was published serially over 19 instalments, and this 15-part series (1x60 and 14x30) will mirror that approach, with a scheduling pattern similar to that of Bleak House. Filming will begin in April 2008 in the UK. Anne Pivcevic (Sense And Sensibility) will executive produce the serialisation, along with Lisa Osborne as producer, and Dearbhla Walsh (The Tudors) and Adam Smith (Skins) directing.

Some more Incendiary Reviews

I had been editing an earlier post, but thought some people might miss them. I've posted these reviews in the forum earlier today.

Cinema Blend

Incendiary is a reaction to the world we now live in, where bombs are a constant threat. People in the world are vividly aware that the next big disaster is only a button press away. Rather than depress the audience, Incendiary aims to motivate. Telling us that no matter how badly we are beaten, we can never be broken. Unfortunately the ending falls flat, becoming too cheesy to truly inspire.

Times Online

But there’s so much in this ambitious/opportunistic effort that misses the mark, from the one-dimensional characters to the craven plotting and sentimental tone… Maguire is playing with fire, and it blows up in her face.

Edit: I've added a few more reviews.

More about Matthew Macfadyen's Guest Role in Ashes to Ashes

Thank you to 6point7 for sharing this information!

The following was hilariously posted in the Mirror

Wonder if Keeley Hawes had anything to do with hubby Matthew MacFadyen's guest role in Ashes To Ashes? In one episode he plays a dim bloke with a mullet who's seen sitting in a bath full of beans. Matt explains: "He's hapless but he tries to raise money for charity."

He still gets a kicking from Gene Hunt though.

I'm happy to see Matthew Macfadyen and Keeley Hawes working together again since Spooks/MI-5 and Death at a Funeral. I hope to see them work together in many future projects, small or large. I love that Matthew can play a leading man as well as not be afraid to laugh at himself.
