Author dedicates book to Matthew Macfadyen

Author, Margaret Ó hÓgartaigh, has dedicated her latest book to Matthew Macfadyen.  It is entitled "Quiet Revolutionaries: Irish Women in Education, Medicine and Sport, 1861-1964" and launches in Dublin in April 2011.

I asked Margaret why she dedicated her fourth book to Matthew and she related the following:

I begin my book with a quotation from Jane Austen, 'if you please no reference to examples in books, the pen has been in male hands', it is from Persuasion.  Matthew, who loves reading, has made the past engaging and exciting through his work in various historical dramas.

You can pre-order on Amazon.

Matthew attends Frankenstein at the National

It was noted on twitter as well as some recent reviews that Matthew Macfadyen attended last night's showing of Frankenstein, a play at the National Theatre starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller.  Both Cumberbatch and Miller have acted along with Matthew's wife, Keeley Hawes in Tipping the Velvet and Complicity respectively.  Matthew acted with Naomie Harris (Bride of Frankenstein) in The Project.

ETA: riddler reminded me in the forum that Benedict Cumberbatch and Matthew shared an episode of Spooks and Jonny Lee Miller and Matthew can be seen together in this photo at the London Marathon in 2009
