Ripper Street: Possible October showing in the UK?

We know that BBC America will be showing the second season of Ripper Street beginning December 1, 2013, yet BBC One hasn't announced the release date in the UK.

Jerome Flynn posted on his facebook page the following:

As for the show, well it feels like we have something that's more settled in its skin playing to the strength of the wonderful characters we have on board, and I would say more exciting than the first. They are talking of an earlier transmission date, possibly October, so it shouldn't be long before you can judge for yourself

You probably already know that BBC will be releasing some footage from series 2 of Ripper Street on Sunday at 9 am.  Here are two scenes that have already been released.  There may be more, but it is difficult to tell if the scenes are from Ripper Street.
