Character Synopsis: Daniel in Death at a Funeral
From the official Death at a Funeral Website
MATHEW MACFADYEN - DANIEL
All the responsibilities land on Daniel, like handling the funeral while wife Jane pressures him about moving out of his parents’ home. “If you could just call about that flat.” Except he’s already spent their rent money on the funeral. To make things worse, his brother, famous author Robert, isn’t able to cover his half. Something about the horrific cost of First Class tickets. Oh, right, then there’s the issue of blackmail. Seems like dear dead dad had some rather dark secrets. Through it all, Daniel does his best. Turns out the only thing stronger than keeping his father’s name intact is his desire to be a famous writer as well, even though no one – not even the blackmailer – seems to think he has it in him. Certainly not after that awful eulogy.
