Is Death at a Funeral release delayed in the US?

bksreader had this to report in the darcylicious forum:

I just got home from the screening and I have great news and also bad news. I will start with the bad news first. Right before they started the movie, a Kimmel rep thanked us for attending the screening and announced that originally the film was going to open at the end of June, but now they pushing back the release date to sometime in mid to late August to early September. Please don't kill the messenger!!! I asked if they had a specific date yet and why they moved it back, but he could not give me an answer. He said they just announced it that morning.

Now for the great news: THE MOVIE IS AMAZING!!!!

I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard or that often in a movie. It was almost non-stop laughter. Who ever said in one of those reviews from Seattle that it was just fake laughter for the sake of Frank Oz being in the audience, was an idiot. There was no director or star at this cinema, and I would say the majority, if not the entire audience was in sticthes pretty much through the whole movie.

Matthew is the absolute STAR of the film. The film is basically a movie about a family, and Matthew is the heart and the soul of that family. He was amazing!!! He did all parts of the role to perfection. He had great comic timing. I think what makes stand out from all of the other fabulous actors in this movie is his ability to switch gears completely from comedy and immediately touch your heart. I don't want to say too much to give it all away, but he was absolutely brilliant in this movie. Plus he was gorgeous!!!
