Churchill's Secret: Possible Fall Premiere on PBS Masterpiece

Churchill's Secret may have a fall premiere on PBS' Masterpiece, according to the Huffington Post.

Meanwhile ITV has not yet announced the date it will show Churchill's Secret.  Originally it was expected in January 2016.

Churchill's Secret: ITV Presents at Everyman Cinema

ITV presents the premiere of Churchill’s Secret on Monday 1st February, exclusively at Everyman.

Set during the summer months of 1953 Churchill—now Prime Minister for the second time and in his late 70’s—suffers a life-threatening stroke, which is kept secret from the world.
Told from the viewpoint of his young Nurse, Millie Appleyard, the drama follows his battle to recover as his long suffering wife Clemmie desperately hopes the stroke will force Winston to retire while his political friends and foe scheme to plot who will succeed him. 
Meanwhile his adult children descend on Chartwell, unsure if he will pull through, as tensions within his family begin to surface. 

With a cast including Michael Gambon, Lindsay Duncan, Romola Garai and Matthew Macfadyen, this special one-off feature length preview is simply not to be missed.

Churchill's Secret: BFI Preview MiniReview

We were lucky enough to have some of our forum members attend the Churchill's Secret BFI Preview tonight.  We were given a mini-review which is posted below.   Of course it is has a strong emphasis on Matthew Macfadyen's character, Randolph Churchill.  If you don't want to be spoiled, don't read any further!

Excellent drama.. All cast brilliant. MM's part although small was riveting. He was perfectly acerbic and extremely unlikable as Randolph from his first appearance... just as he should be! Maybe on screen only 10 mins in the 102 min drama but really made his presence felt. 
There's a scene with the family around the table... just incredible acting from him.


Should be a Bafta for Michael Gambon we reckon... he was brilliant as Churchill.

Churchill's Secret will air on ITV (UK) in January 2016 and on PBS (US) sometime in 2016.

According to the ITV press centre, Churchill's Secret, will be airing week 2 of January 2016, some day between Saturday 9 January and Friday 15 January.
